Introducing The Crafty Witches

Tell us more about you and The Crafty Witches?

My name is Lynda Chapman & I have been a supplier & guest demonstrator on craft channels for nearly 19 years. My passion is digital crafting so it was no surprise that when The Crafty Witches first appeared on HobbyMaker we launched our digital collections. The Crafty Witches is a partnership between myself and Becky Seddon who is a fantastic graphic designer. We are also have Hels Sheridan on our team who expertly demonstrates our collections on the channel. Together we are Hubble Bubble (Hels, Toil (Becky) and Trouble (who else but me), The Crafty Witches. There is a 4th member of The Coven, Lexie, commonly known as I is Lexie the Dragon Slayer. She is really the boss!

How did you get into crafting?

I have always been a crafty person, learning to knit & sew from the age of 7 years old. I started paper crafting when I was treasurer for a local animal charity in Northumberland where I live with my husband Colin & Lexie our Old English Sheepdog. I started making & selling cards to raise much needed funds and discovered digital crafting as an inexpensive source of materials and the rest is history.

When was your first show on HobbyMaker and what did you launch?

My first show for The Crafty witches was on 14th October 2022 when we launched our first digital papercraft collection, Snowy Day Friends.

What's your favourite craft project?

I’ve just recently starting using MDF in my papercraft project. The beautiful fairy is from The Crafty Witches Book of Spells Vol III and the mdf tag is from Bert & Gert’s MDF range.

What's your go-to Karaoke Anthem?

Always look on the bright side of life.

If you could be any animal, what would it be? And why?

I would like to be a dog with a good home, loved & spoilt by my owners. After all they say “It’s a dog’s life.”

Introducing Becky Seddon

Tell us more about you and The Crafty Witches?

I’m Becky Seddon, co-owner of The Crafty Witches. Lynda Chapman and I decided to collaborate after many years of friendship and working together. It’s a true passion project for the two of us, we are so committed to affordable craft for all and feel The Crafty Witches embodies that! Hels Sheridan joins us as a key Crafty Witch, she is a fabulous creative and known to us as Hubble Bubble, I’m Toil and Lynda is Trouble (of course)! I studied design at university and always wanted to get into the greetings card industry. But realised my ultimate dream of joining a card craft company back in 2007. I haven’t looked back since then! I have two beautiful children who are both little, my four-year-old is just getting into making things and loves Mummy’s job!

How did you get into crafting?

I have been crafting since I could hold scissors! My Nan and I used to make cards and knit together from when I was a very young girl, every weekend. She was a special lady that could make anything! Puts me to shame!

When was your first show on HobbyMaker and what did you launch?

Our first show was on 14th October 2022! We were so excited for our launch of the Snowy Day Friends Collection, plus it was our company debut! We felt so honoured to join the HobbyMaker gang!

What's your favourite craft project?

I think the most treasured craft project and therefore my favourite, was the first time my daughter asked to make something! It was so special as I we had made quite a few things before, but this was all her idea. The year before last, she wanted to make masks for Halloween. She specifically requested a ghost mask!

What's your go-to Karaoke Anthem?

That’s tough, but most likely ‘Proud Mary’ by the legend Tina Turner!

If you could be any animal, what would it be? And why?

Most definitely a sloth, that’s my kind of preferred pace!
